Evening primrose, botanical source Oenothera biennis L., is an annual or biennial plant of family Onagraceae of order Myrtales.
It originated in North America, was introduced into Europe in the early stage, and then spread rapidly in temperate and subtropical regions. Evening primrose is now widely cultivated in China.
